Hey, I’m Rob.
Throughout my 30 years in the creative industry, I have worked for a corporation, a government department, four design studios, started two successful agencies, and taught brand strategy at Algonquin College. And in 2009 I was recognized as a 40 Under 40 for business achievement and community service.
I continue to run an Ottawa-based creative agency Greenmelon, I teach Professional Practice and Design Appreciation at Niagara College, and I am one of the founders of the Registered Graphic Designers (RGD).
I’ve been fortunate to work in a large variety of sectors.
Over the years, I have worked with brands like Warner Brothers, Farmboy, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and DC Comics. I've also had the pleasure of presenting at events such as Design Thinkers, in-house design conferences, design workshops, webinars, and podcasts to creatives globally.
Behind these personal successes lies a career full of late nights, frustrated sighs, and banging my head against the keyboard in an attempt to create good work. I have been inspired and motivated through helping others for many years, but the path to success was not always easy.

There has got to be something better.
In high school, these words were my mantra. I hated high school. Besides my close circle of friends, I felt trapped in a rigid system that did not understand me. I felt out of place and lost. Many of us have felt that way at work, in front of clients, bosses, and even colleagues. This feeling sucks, but what if I told you that you didn’t have to keep feeling this way? I’ve realized over the years how to overcome this feeling and I want to help individuals overcome these feelings too.
Create room for your creative self to flourish
Burnout, stress and loss of passion are common in the communications industry. The feeling sucks, but you are not alone. Let's rediscover your passion and strengthen your skills.
Gain clarity on your career path and the confidence to pursue it
No amount of coffee or staring down at your computer will get you where you want to go. I’ve been there, and I know sometimes you need the right tools and that extra push to get you excited about and thriving in your career.
